- Hayfever or watery eyes
- Little or no brow hair
- Alopecia (absence of hair)
- Sparse or light lashes
- Difficulty in makeup application
- Unsteady or arthritic hands

Is Permanent Cosmetic Makeup really permanent?Yes. It is a specialized technique of artistically placing colored pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. The high quality pigments used in this tattooing process are usually comprised of iron oxides, alcohol, glycerin and distilled water. These pigments have been used for decades with little or no reaction to the skin.
Is it painful? It is considered permanent because the pigment is implanted and encapsulated in the skin. As a result the iron oxide remains in the body. As with any body tattoo, fading can and often does occur due to many factors including sun exposure, your health, medication consumption, condition of your skin and facial products used. For these reasons, touch-up or refresher appointments may be desired in a few years to keep your makeup looking fresh and crisp. This varies with each individual. Proper after care of the treated area such as using sunscreen and avoiding tanning beds will help prolong the results.
How long will the procedure take?A two-step topical numbing technique is used prior to your procedure. Most clients say they feel a vibrating or tickling sensation. This varies according to each individuals tolerance to discomfort. If a client begins to feel uncomfortable, we simply apply more anesthetic. After the procedure is completed, most clients experience some redness and slight swelling to the area. This is temporary and usually subsides within a few hours for eyebrows and eyeliner and a day or two for lips. Applying ice to the treated area will help reduce swelling.
Will I need a touch-up?The initial procedure may take 2 - 3 hours. This may consist of your consultation where we will discuss your medical history and determine if the procedure is safe for you. If eyebrows or lips are done, it may take some time to determine the perfect shape and color. Numbing the area can take up to 30 min. Touch –up visits usually require less time.
Can I still have an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)? All clients should return for a touch up appointment between 4-6 weeks. (The first touch-up is included in your original cost). Any pigment that was lost during healing can be replaced at this time. Permanent makeup is considered a process. A perfect procedure will most likely require more than one application.
What will I look like immediately after my procedure?Numerous studies have shown that even for people who have large body tattoos, there is little to no potential for irritation resulting from an MRI. In the rare instant where discomfort resulted, it was localized and very temporary.
Is it safe?Your procedure will appear much darker than desired for the first few days. After the initial healing phase (1-7 days) you will notice a softer, more powdery look. It is recommended that you not plan special events for several days after your procedure.
May I choose the color and shape? As a Registered Nurse working in Medical/Surgical, and Labor and Delivery since 2000, I deal with sterilization and disease prevention on a daily basis. All items used in your permanent makeup procedure are sanitized prior to your arrival. Latex free gloves are used during the procedure. A pre-packaged sterile needle will be used then disposed of according to OSHA standards. Standard precautions are used at all times. This, along with the client’s compliance with post-procedure instructions, makes permanent cosmetics very safe.
What if I want to change the color from time to time?Absolutely. In fact, nothing is done without your approval. We will work together to design the most attractive shape and style based on your natural facial features and personal preferences. We will then choose a color according to your skin tone.
No problem. Permanent makeup enhances your natural features so you can look good 24 hours a day with no effort. The pigment is placed in the skin so you can always apply conventional makeup to your skin anytime you wish to create a different look.
